It is very important that you follow Adoption Guidelines to carry on the procedure correctly as well as smoothly. Here are the rules that you should be sure to follow in terms of Adoption Guidelines:

1. Always opt for a genuine adoption agency which has been Government recognized.

2. Instead of applying in several agencies, apply with any one of them. Nowadays online registration as well as list of Government Recognized Adoption Agencies are available online.

3. Many opt for adopting children directly from hospitals or private organizations which is not permitted. Few also adopt directly from individuals which again is not permitted.

4. Once you apply for adoption you will have to pay a certain fee which has been prescribed by the Government and also listed under the Adoption Guidelines. Once you pay the prescribed fee you receive a fee paid receipt which should be kept properly as you may need it in future.

Hence parents who wish to adopt a child has to understand the contents and facts of the report thoroughly before undergoing the process.

Here's what the Adoption Home Study Report includes:

1. The age of the parents. Here the couple who wishes to adopt should have a combined age more than 90 years. Also the age gap between the couple shouldn't be too much, like more than the preferred age gap.

2. The Educational background of the couple. The couple has to be educationally sound which otherwise affects the financial background of the family.

3. The years of marriage. The couple who wishes to adopt should be married for at least 5 years and within this period they should have had at least tried for having their own biological child.

4. The Financial Score. The couple who wishes to adopt should be financially sound which will help them to take care of the child's needs including education and else.

5. The Religion. It is very important for the Adoption officials to know about the religious background of the couple and the religion priority set by the parents for the child as this help the officials to understand the adoption needs of the couple.

6. The Health Report. The physically sound health of the couple who wishes to adopt plays an important role when it comes to adoption procedure. A latest doctor's report stating the physical and mental sound state of the couple is required.

7. The Joint Family. Again the actual members living in a household forms an important part of the Adoption Home Study Report. In such cases where joint families live, health report for the other family members, their educational background and age also needs to be informed.

8. Other than the above mentioned information about the couple who wishes to adopt, the Adoption Home Study Report also includes personal discussion the adoption official has with the couple. In this discussion the official tries to evaluate the general thoughts and behavior pattern of the couple.

9. The official also checks for the social status of the couple which is again important for the adopted child's future. In this what is observed is the family background of the couple, work position, work hazards, financial standing etc.

10. The adoption official also determines the state of the marital relationship a couple has while planning for adoption. Both the individuals are examined closely to learn about their thoughts and personal attitude towards adoption.
